Science Alumni Awards
The Faculty of Science established the Distinguished Science Alumni Awards in 1999 in conjunction with the Faculty's 70th Anniversary in recognition of alumni who have distinguished themselves in national leadership, service, research excellence or betterment and promotion of Science.
In line with the growth and influence of the Faculty and its many and wide ranging disciplines the Faculty decided to also establish the Outstanding Science Alumni Awards with its celebration of the University's Centennial.

Science Alumni Awards 2009

Six Distinguished Science Alumni and 11 Outstanding Science Alumni were awarded this year. Awards were presented during the Faculty of Science's 80th Anniversary Dinner with a Difference on 24 October, held at the Sheraton Towers Singapore. Presenting the awards was Guest-of-Honour, Chairman of the National Research Foundation, Dr Tony Tan, BSc(Hons) 1962. Some 400 alumni, students, faculty, staff and friends attend the event.

Donors who Made a Difference with gifts of $200 or more to the Faculty during the year were invited to the dinner. These gifts will be used as financial aid for needy Science students.
