The SSF was set up by the Faculty to assist students in their time of need. It also offers Bursaries to students from low-income homes.

On 24 Oct 2009, 6 Distinguished and 11 Outstanding Alumni Awards were announced and presented at the Sheraton Towers Singapore, by Dr Tony Tan, BSc(Hons) 1962.
